There are 40 marks available. 24 marks are for content and organisation and 16 marks are for use of spelling, grammar and punctuation. You should spend 1 hour on this task.
Make sure that you use a wide range of vocabulary and that you use a range of correctly punctuated sentence structures.

Year 10 Summer revision work.
It is important that you have a good, in depth knowledge of the GCSE English Literature texts that we have studied in year 10. We have set work for you over the time of the school closure that will have helped you to deepen your understanding. It is now time to consolidate this so that you are well prepared for your studies in September. Please complete the work below. It should be completed in note form and should bring together what you know.
GCSE English Literature
Make a revision sheet/revision notes for each Literature text:A Christmas Carol

An Inspector Calls
This should be done in note form and should fit onto 1 piece of A3 paper or 2 pieces of A4.
Copies of each Literature text are included in the resources section and you can use bbc bitesize and Youtube to help you to revise the texts.
Include notes on characters/setting/events in order of happening/themes/historical context
Collect quotes to match each of the areas / people that you have made notes on.
Use the Anthology Poetry Guide located in the resources section. Read the poetry notes and then synthesize them so that you have postcard sized notes on each poem. Your notes should include Context/Structure/Meaning/Imagery and you should select a at least 3 quotes from each poem and start to memorise them.

Practise your reading spelling, punctuation and grammar by completing the tasks in the Year 10 Literacy and Close reading workbook located in the resources section.
