- Going to p1, you need to learn and revise all the school items in the list. You should do this by making flashcards or you could use the attached “dominos” template (draw item OR write the English word on one side, and then on the other side write the French word - make sure that your dominoes lead on from one another and make a “ring”). - Then on p3, write out the questions and answers about school equipment. Read the explanation of how to form questions using “Tu as…?” (do you have…?) and how to say “oui, j’ai…” (yes, I have…) or “non, je n’ai pas de…” (no, I don’t have…). Write out the 3 sentences for each item (see image on the right hand side).

In order to practise forming questions using “Tu as…?” and answering them, please unjumble the letters in the phrases below to practise forming the sentences learnt today. - On p6 of the booklet, use the “café” vocab in the table and make flashcards. Draw pictures on one side with the English underneath and write the French on the other side. Spend time learning the new vocab so you can remember the vocab from both English into French and also French into English. (Spend 10 minutes every day practicing these phrases)
- On p6, translate the phrases below into French - try to do it from memory, double check spellings and revise any that you get wrong, or that you misspelled.
- Write out a roleplay conversation, using the vocab from the table, of ordering food and drinks in a café. - Revise phrases from the last page of the previous booklet on snacks and ordering food in a café, then log in to your Google Classroom and do the “Y7 wk 7 French Spelling Test” via the link that has been set as an assignment.
- Booklet 2: Read through the vocabulary on page 1 and 2 of the new booklet. There is a lot of vocabulary here, but some of it you will recognise from last half term’s booklet. Highlight any new phrases, tricky phrases and words and phrases you still don’t know very well. Spend some time this week learning these words and phrases. It is good to try and learn the French spellings where you can and have a go at reading them aloud in French too. Remember, look at the word / phrase, say it out loud, cover it, write it and check it. Repeat this until you have got the spelling correct. Aim to learn a minimum of 10 French spellings from this list. If you feel you can do as many as 20, then go for it! 20 minutes focussed revision a day is enough to learn your vocabulary well.

- Revise phrases from the last page of the previous booklet on ordering food and drinks in a café, then log in to your Google Classroom and do the “Y7 wk 8 French Spelling Test” via the link that has been set as an assignment. - Using the pages 1 and 2, use the vocabulary to create your own translations, at least 5, this will also help you learn your vocabulary. For example, look at the two pages of words and phrases, write out a sentence in English, e.g: “I would like one strawberry ice cream with two scoops please.” Or: “Hello, I would like a slice of pizza, a lemonade and a hot chocolate please.” Then using the vocabulary lists, write your sentences in French. Take your time with your spellings and ensure you check them thoroughly.

- Complete page 3 of the booklet, titles: “Un dialogue chez le marchand de glace.” This is a conversation between two people (a waiter/waitress and a customer) in an ice cream parlour. However, in each sentence the words are muddled up, so you need to rewrite the sentences using the same words, but put the words in the correct order.
- Now have a go at translating the conversation into English.

- Read carefully the conversation on page 4 of the booklet. Use the vocabulary lists to help you understand any unknown vocabulary where possible. On page 5, titled: “How do you say the following phrases in French?” Translate the 10 English phrases into French. You will find all the answers in the conversation on page 4. You will NOT need to use a dictionary or an online translator.

Revise previous vocab and phrases from again if necessary. - This week focus on pages 8 - 11 of the booklet. On page 8 read the prices written in words and then write them in numbers.
- On page 10 and 11, (titled: “C’est combien?”) using the menu on page 9, work out the cost of each person’s order. Then translate the sentences into English. (Sentences 1-4). Then translate sentences 5 and 6 into French. Use the vocabulary from the menu, you will NOT need to use a dictionary or an online translator.

If you do have access to the Internet, then it would be very beneficial to spend some time researching and reading about French cafe culture. When you learn a foreign language it is very important and incredibly interesting to learn about (and appreciate) the culture of that country too.
