Preparations for GCSEs
Speaking questions & Kerboodle
Speaking questions & Kerboodle
- Learn and revise speaking questions off by heart. Students should use their pre-written answers in their speaking booklet. Speaking exams are due to be held w/c 27th April (tbc).
- Past paper practice – listening and reading papers to be completed in exam conditions.
- Kerboodle (www.kerboodle.com): All students should have their login details stuck in their planners (please email their teacher if they do not have this). Work through chapters and listening and reading exercises covering areas of weakness. Under the Resources tab of Kerboodle, students should also use the Vocab Builder, Grammar exercises (Green book for foundation and Red book for higher).
- Use Seneca Learning to revise independently and/or as directed by class teacher.
- Quizlet.com – Revise “AQA GCSE French vocab” (also search for foundation/ higher).
- Students to check Google Classroom and school emails for additional assignments/ guidance.
Next step after GCSE : Bridging the gap to A Level French
The French A level is made up of five modules at AS level and a further five at A level. At AS level, you will build on the basics you have learned in GCSE French to improve fluency when talking about family and relationships, your lifestyle, the media and popular culture.
Be aware that the knowledge of grammar, especially verbs and tenses, is paramount to succeed in this course. You also need to show an interest in the culture, cinema, current affairs, etc.
